Helen Stephen

Chair

 

Helen is a second year French and Spanish student from St Albans. As Chair she is responsible for the general direction of the Club, organising events and running campaigns.  She gained experience throughout the 2007 Scottish Parliament Elections and has a keen interest in gender equality.

 

Outwith student politics Helen plays the piano and the viola and enjoys listening to music.

    Lucille Harvey
  Vice Chair


Lucille is a fourth year Politics student from Liverpool. Her responsibilities as Vice Chair include chairing meetings in the absence of the Chair, running campaigns and supporting the Chair. She is also the Glasgow Representative on the Scottish Labour Students Policy Fourm  and
is the University SRC’s Minority Ethnic Officer

     Johnny McGhee Doyle
   Secretary

 

Johnny is from Edinburgh and is a second year Chemistry and Biology student. As Secretary Johnny is responsible for affiliations, taking minutes and acts as Returning Officer in Club elections.

 

Outwith the Labour Club he is involved with University Debating and enjoys playing Rugby and ……

      Gerard Durkin
   Treasurer

Gerry is a second year Economics student from Glasgow.  His repsonsibilities as Treasurer include fundraising and maintaining the Labour Club accounts. The Treasurer reports annually to the Club at the AGM. 

 

His interests include golf, snooker, cycling and reading.

      Patrick McGlinchey
   Press & Publicity Officer
 

Johnny Patrick is a 3rd year Politics and Theology student from Clydbank. As Press & Publicity Officer Patrick is responsible for publicising Labour Club events on campus.

 

Patrick is a Councillor for Clydebank Central on West Dunbartonshire Council and also sits on the Oxfam Youth Board.  He is the Co-op Party Youth Representative for Scotland.

Julia Braun
Women’s Officer

 

Julia is a fourth year Politics student from Hamburg.  She represents the views of female members of the club and organises events to promote gender equality and encourage female members. Previously Julia was Secretary of the Labour Club.  She is currently Secretary of Scottish Labour Students and is Labour Students National Chair of Steering.

 

Outside of University Julia has worked for MSP’s and Public Affairs Consultancies.

Frank Wilson
Meetings Officer

 

Frank is from East Renfrewshire, outside Glasgow and is a fourth year Law student.  As Meetings Officer his responsibilities include venues and logistics and assisting the Chair in organising a programme of meetings.

Frank is Treasurer of his local Labour Party Branch and worked in East Renfrewshire over the election campaign in May 2007.
